PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellently operable standup support chair which supports standup preferably by lifting the buttocks of a user with a seat and pressing the back of the user with a backrest when the user stands up and also in which the backrest can be reclined. SOLUTION: The chair is provided with: a base 20; a seat 30 whose front end is supported pivotally relative to the base 20 so that its rear end is turned in a vertical direction relative to the base 20; the backrest 40 whose lower end is pivoted at the seat 30 so that its upper end is turned forward and backward relative to the seat 30; a seat drive unit 50 for turning the seat 30 relative to the base 20; a backrest drive unit 60 for turning the backrest 40 relative to the seat 30; and a backrest turning control means which turns the upper end side of the backrest 40 backward relative to the seat 30 by operating the backrest drive unit 60 with the turning of the rear end side of the seat 30 upward relative to the base 20 by operation of the seat drive unit 50.
