<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a grid polarizing film which is excellent in polarization separating performance and has a high light transmittance through efficient, inexpensive and convenient processes. <P>SOLUTION: The grid polarizing film is obtained by; forming an alignment film on a substrate; applying a block copolymer made by connecting at least two polymer block chains incompatible to each other to form a resin layer in which phase separation structures of lamella type or cylinder type in the copolymer are arranged side by side in one direction; and forming a Z-layer comprising material Z in which the absolute value of difference between a real part n and an imaginary part κ of a complex refractive index (N=n-iκ) is at least 1.0 on the resin layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
