<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit a preferential printing of subsequent printing jobs by interruption in accordance with printing conditions of printing jobs in the process of printing. <P>SOLUTION: The printer 1 judges whether or not preceding printing jobs can be temporarily stopped on the basis of printing conditions for the preceding printing jobs at the time when a request for interrupt printing to make printing jobs already spooled in a spooling section 5 or printing jobs spooled in the spooling section 5 during printing subsequent printing jobs occurs during the printing of the preceding printing jobs spooled in the spooling section 5. If the preceding printing jobs can be temporarily stopped, the printer temporarily stops the printing of the preceding printing jobs and preferentially carries out the subsequent printing jobs.
