<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information reproducing device capable of reproducing video data and sound data with a small circuit scale and low power consumption and to provide an electronic instrument. <P>SOLUTION: The information reproducing device includes: a TS separation section 210 which extracts a first TS packet for generating the image data, a second TS packet for generating the sound data, and a third TS packet other than the first and the second TS packets from a transport stream; a memory 220 including first to third memory areas in which the first to the third TS packets are respectively stored; an image decoder 230 which performs image decoding based on the first TS packet stored in the first memory area; and a sound decoder 240 which performs sound decoding based on the second TS packet stored in the second memory area.
