<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fine carbon fiber dispersion excellent in dispersion stability and useful especially for being introduced into a living body. <P>SOLUTION: The carbon fiber dispersion is made by dispersing carbon fiber of 0.001-30 mass% in polyethylene glycol. By adding fine carbon fiber directly into polyethylene glycol and shaking, the carbon fiber is very stably and well dispersed. When the dispersion is diluted with various media, especially with aqueous media such as water, the state where the fine carbon fiber is stably and finely dispersed in these media is kept for a long time.
