PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink cartridge which is prevented from becoming large in size even when a sensor of ink shortage is loaded. SOLUTION: The ink cartridge 21 comprises a cartridge body 31 of a nearly rectangular parallelepiped shape which stores ink, a substrate 32 with an output terminal 32d for an electrical signal to an apparatus where the ink cartridge 21 is mounted, and the sensor 35 which is arranged nearer to a face (nearer to a front face) where the substrate 32 is arranged in the nearly rectangular parallelepiped shape of the cartridge body 31, and which outputs the electrical signal according to the quantity of the ink via the output terminal 32d of the substrate 32.
