PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a skin care preparation containing an alginic acid polyhydric alcohol ester and/or its salt and giving a make-up cosmetic having improved make-up durability. SOLUTION: The skin care preparation giving a make-up cosmetic having improved make-up durability contains (1) a polyhydric alcohol ester such as propylene glycol ester of alginic acid and/or its salt and (2) an acylated amino acid ester such as di(phytosteryl/2-octyldodecyl) N-lauroyl-glutamate.
