PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle failure diagnostic system and a method therefor to make troubleshooting of a variety of sorts or find the indication at an early stage. SOLUTION: The vehicle failure diagnostic system to make troubleshooting of a vehicle is equipped with an information acquiring means to acquire the vehicle failure information from the diagnosis object vehicle, an recognition means to recognize the surrounding environment of the diagnosis object vehicle, a sensing means to sense the abnormality generating timing of the diagnosis object vehicle on the basis of the vehicle running information acquired by the information acquiring means and the surrounding environment recognize by the recognition means, and a failure diagnosing means to acquire the vehicle conditional information sensed from the diagnosis object vehicle during the prescribed period including the abnormality generating timing sensed by the sensing means and perform troubleshooting of the vehicle on the basis of the vehicle conditional information acquired. For example, the sensing means holds the typical pattern of the vehicle running for each situation type of the surrounding environment and senses a abnormality generating timing when the vehicle running information is deviated at a prescribed level or more from the typical pattern.
