PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector with reliability of connection improved. SOLUTION: Two pairs of contact parts 41, 42, 64, 66 are provided at and in contact with header contacts 4 and socket contacts 6, respectively. In the header contact 4, an engaging protrusion 41a generating sustaining power by being engaged with an engaged protrusion 64a of the socket contact 6 is provided at the first contact part 41, and at the same time, an evacuation recess 42a is provided at the second contact part 42. Foreign matters attached to one of the second contact parts 42, 66 are dropped off into the evacuation recess 42a at the time of connection, and is never to be pinched between the second contact parts 42, 66, so that contact between the second contact parts 42, 66 are assured, and reliability of connection is improved. Also, since the engaging protrusion 41a and the evacuation recess 42a are provided at different contact parts 41, 42, respectively, in the header contact 4, downsizing can be made possible compared with a case in which both the engaging protrusion 41a and the evacuation recess 42a are provided at one and the same contact part 41, 42.
