A liquid dispensing pump comprises a housing 34 and a plunger 36 forming a compartment 62 having an inlet 74, and an outlet passage 72 and an integral valve member 38 including an inlet valve 78 and an outlet valve 84, the inlet valve 78 comprising a resilient cylindrical flap seating on the closed end 80 of a hollow projection 46 extending upwards from a bottom wall 44 of the housing and surrounding the inlet passage 74, and the outlet value 84 comprising an annular flap 84 having a circular sealing edge engaging a cylindrical wall 42 of the housing and of slightly larger diameter before assembly than the cylindrical wall 42 so that the flap bends and is self biased against the wall 42. The outlet passage 72 terminates in a spout 70 on which a spray nozzle, Figs. 13-18 (not shown) may be fitted. The plunger 36 may be locked in the depressed position by rotation so that lugs 68 on the plunger engage lips 66 on the housing, an annular edge 54 on the bottom of the plunger 36 engaging the inlet valve 78 to prevent flow of liquid. The pump assembly apart from the spring 40 may be made of plastics material. Figs. 7-12 (not shown) show two other forms of inlet valve.</p> |
