RECORDING DEVICE FOR RECORDING A CONTENT INTO A PLURALITY OF RECORDING MEDIA AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF

In a recording device for recoding a content into a plurality of recording media, when no more empty capacity becomes available during content recording and the remaining content should be recorded on another recording medium, reproduction of the entire recorded content requires all the recording media containing parts of the content separated and recorded. Especially when the recording medium built in the recording device has a small capacity and a detachable external recording medium is connected after recording start so as to assure a capacity, a content is separated into the built-in recording medium and an external recording medium. If the external recording medium is removed from the recording medium and connected to a reproduction device so as to reproduce the content, only a part of the content can be reproduced. In order to reproduce the entire content in other reproduction device, a user should edit the separated contents so that they are contained in one recording medium. It is possible to provide a recording medium for controlling a content recording destination so that one content can be recorded in one recording medium as long as possible.
