The machine for producing tubes comprises: a winding spindle (4), around which strips of weblike material are wound to form the tube (T), which is ma de to advance along the spindle; a device for supply and winding of said str ips around said spindle; and at least one knife (51) for cutting lengths of said tube being formed. The knife is provided with a reciprocating movement parallel to said spindle. There is moreover envisaged a counter-knife (57) w ithin the tube being formed, provided with a movement of translation synchro nized to the movement of translation of said knife. The counter-knife is mag netically constrained to a mover member (67, 71), which transmits the motion of translation to the counter-knife.
