摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transflective liquid crystal display of a vertical alignment mode, wherein the direction in which liquid crystal molecules fall can be suitably controlled. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display which has a liquid crystal layer 50 of a vertical alignment mode interposed between a pair of substrates and is provided with a transmission display region T and a reflection display region R in one dot region, has an insulating film 26 making liquid crystal layer thicknesses in the reflection display region R and the transmission display region T different from each other, in the reflection display region R. In the substrate side in which the insulating film 26 is formed, an electrode slit 29 for performing alignment regulation of the liquid crystal molecules is formed in the reflection display region R and a projecting part 28 for performing alignment regulation of the liquid crystal molecules is formed in the transmission display region T. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
