PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile robot which acquires personal information on a communication partner, and communicates with the partner in timing conformable to self-moving speed. SOLUTION: This mobile robot acquires personal information of a possesor of a detecting tag T according to identification information by a personal information acquiring means 40h when a person identification means 40a detects the presence of the detecting tag T and the identification information according to a radio signal transmitted from the detecting tag T storing the identification information. According to the acquired personal information, the communication content is determined by a communication action determining means 40k, and the timing for starting communication is controlled according to the distance from the possessor of the detecting tag T acquired by a position information acquiring means 401 and self-moving speed detected by a self-moving detecting means 40m.
