PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily return a double-fed sheets to a cassette, while preventing dragged double-feed after a retard roller is separated in the case wherein a conveying passage from a paper feeding cassette to the retard roller is curved in a retard separating mechanism. SOLUTION: A one-way roller is projected on the way of the conveying passage so that resistance force to be applied to the paper sheet from the conveying passage in the paper sheet feeding direction becomes larger than the resistance force in the opposite direction.
