PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a feeding failure of the last paper sheet and the double feed of paper sheets on a paper sheet stacking device such as a paper sheet cassette in a swing arm type paper feeding mechanism. SOLUTION: In order to surely prevent the double feed and a feeding failure of the last paper sheets of various sizes, a separating pad is vertically moved in conjunction with a guide member inside the paper sheet cassette so as to adjust the pushing force of the separating pad to the last paper sheet according to a paper size. By this structure, an optimal friction force is given to the last paper sheet, and double feed and a feeding failure can be prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
