The damper (1) includes a cylinder (3) in which a piston rod (5) moves axially. The cylinder is closed off by a piston rod guide with a seal, covered at least partly by a stepped disk with a stop surface (25), which is enlarged by the presence of a second disk (17) mounted on the first one, possibly fixed to it and possibly with a centering edge supported radially on the first disk.
