<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sebum inhibitor having a high sebum secretion suppressing effect which is effective for treatment or prophylaxis to increase in dandruff, alopecia, dermatitis or pimple, etc., by suppressing excessive secretion of sebum from sebaceous gland of the skin. <P>SOLUTION: The sebum inhibitor optionally comprises a hydrolyzate of a plant body obtained by removing sugar, low molecular lipid component and wax component, a salt obtained by salt substitution treatment of the hydrolyzate, an ester a product of esterification of the hydrolyzate or an amide a product of amidation.
