<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress, using a reactor with small dimension and weight, an adverse effect of a surge voltage or rate of change dV/dt in voltage with time on an AC generator because inductance or electrostatic capacity is large when a voltage type PWW inverter is connected with the AC generator or a generator through a relative long cable. <P>SOLUTION: The reactor 21 is connected with a cable 3 connecting an output terminal of the power converter 1 with the generator or a motor 4. Next, a serial circuit of a resistor 22 and a capacitor 23 is connected with the reactor 21 in parallel.
