<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display apparatus capable of reducing a false contour while suppressing increase in the number of sub-frames as much as possible. <P>SOLUTION: In the display apparatus for expressing gradations by dividing one frame into a plurality of sub-frames, the plurality of sub-frames include M (M is an integer ≥2) normal sub-frames necessary for expressing prescribed gradations and N (N is a natural number) additional sub-frames, and at least two sub-frame lighting patterns composed of a first sub-frame lighting pattern using only the normal sub-frames at least in one gradation out of the prescribed gradations and a second sub-frame lighting pattern using the additional sub-frames and the normal sub-frames are set. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
