PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self light-generation illuminator which has been developed in light of an electric power shortage problem due to a future exhausted situation of fossil fuel, or a global scale problem such as an environmental breakage, and utilizes a natural energy.
SOLUTION: This illuminator comprises an electrode A to be heated by terrestrial heat. A light emitting device 1 is mounted at the center on an opposing surface to a heating surface of the electrode A, and one end of a thermal power generating device 2 is connected to a periphery of the light emitting device 1. The other end of the thermal power generating device 2 is connected to an electrode B to be exposed to an outer air. The thermal power device 2 uses a semiconductor thermal power device having a high thermoelectric conversion efficiency such as a Peltier element. The thermal power generating device 2 generates a DC thermoelectromotive force in response to its thermal gradient by making a temperature of the electrode A on the heating side high due to the terrestrial heat, and by making a temperature of the electrode B on the cooling side low due to the outer air. A DC voltage generated by the thermal power generating device 2 is directly applied to the light emitting device 1. As a result, the light emitting device 1 emits light.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
