PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent generation of unexpected ink leakage in an inkjet printer due to adhesion of waste ink to a waste ink path or an absorber, the waste ink being produced in recovery operation, marginless printing, and preliminary discharge. SOLUTION: An interchangeable waste ink tank is arranged directly under a platen. Waste ink from a recovery unit is introduced into the waste ink tank through a tube, and waste ink from preliminary discharge and marginless printing is directly introduced into the waste ink tank from the holes on the platen. Thus, waste ink and adhering materials from the recovery unit, preliminary discharge and marginless printing are treated in one waste ink tank. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
