PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejector in which bubbles formed of waste liquid and air can be extinguished certainly while minimizing cost increase. SOLUTION: The liquid ejector 10 comprises a head 30 for ejecting liquid, a means for cleaning the liquid ejection head 30 by discharging liquid through a liquid path 25 under a state where the nozzle opening of the liquid ejection head 30 is sealed, and a means 29 disposed on the outlet side of the liquid path 25 in order to contain the liquid discharged by the cleaning means wherein the liquid containing means 29 has a needlelike member 27 below the outlet of the liquid path 25.
