PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve side visibility, while enhancing the aperture ratio of a liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to the liquid crystal display device. In the liquid crystal display device including a pixel having first and second regions, the pixel includes a pixel electrode, common electrode facing the pixel electrode, and alignment layer formed at least on either one of the pixel electrode or the common electrode, and the thicknesses of the alignment layers in the first and second regions are mutually different, and the ratio of a voltage formed in the second region to a voltage formed in the first region is 0.1-0.95.
