PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which is further thinned by utilizing a futile space in the liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device 8 provided with a liquid crystal display part 15 provided with a liquid crystal plate 21, a driver 22 controlling the liquid crystal plate 21 and upper and lower glasses 23 and 24 sandwiching the liquid crystal plate 21 and a backlight part 16 provided with a backlight light source 31, a light guide plate 32 whose one surface is connected to the backlight light source 31 and which emits light from its flat surface to the liquid crystal display part 15 and a plurality of diffusion sheets 34, 35 and 36 diffusing light emitted from the light guide plate 32 is characterized in that the driver 22 is attached to the upper glass 23.
