PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire type window regulator which can facilitate the operation of locking a wire to a carrier plate, and which can reduce the number of components. SOLUTION: A first end part 7 of the wire 6 is inserted through through-holes 20 which are formed in the upper and lower wall parts 18 and 19 of a storage recess 13, so that a second end part 14 and a tension spring 15 can be housed in the storage recess 13 in the state of being locked to the periphery of the through-hole 20. This facilitates the operation of locking the wire 6 to the carrier plate 10. Since other components are not required because the second end part 14 of the wire 6 is directly locked to the periphery of the through-hole 20 of the storage recess 13, the number of the components can be reduced. Since the wire 6, which is elongated from the second end part 14 in the state of being housed in the storage recess 13, is positioned in a notched groove 21 formed from the through-hole 20, the swing of the wire 6 after the locking operation is regulated by the notched groove 21, and the position of the wire 6 is stabilized.
