PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promptly and certainly resolve a catching state when a foreign substance is caught between two roofs or between a vehicle body and the roof in opening/closing action, and to materialize a control device for a vehicular retracting type roof having high reliability. SOLUTION: The control device for the vehicular storage roof comprises: a first coupling member coupled to a roof front portion covering a vehicular cabin front portion and a roof front driving mechanism; a second coupling member coupled to a roof rear portion covering a vehicular cabin rear portion and a roof rear driving mechanism; an opening/closing controlling means; an opening/closing instructing means; and an instruction signal discriminating means for discriminating an instruction from the opening/closing instructing means. A reverse controlling means is equipped, which carries out opening/closing control in an opposite direction to an instructed operating direction when the instruction signal discriminating means determines that an instruction signal to be outputted from the opening/closing instructing means has not been outputted until opening finishing time or closing finishing time.
