摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately predict degraded states of all luminous bodies constituting a display panel through actually measured values about dummy pixels arranged on the outside of an effective display area. <P>SOLUTION: One detection sensor is arranged for a set of dummy pixels, on the outside of the effective display area. In this case, light emission of the dummy pixels is controlled by a preliminarily set gradation value at actual measurement timing of degradation information while light emission of the dummy pixels is continuously controlled by the gradation value of input display data corresponding to a reference pixel. Transition of light emission luminance actually measured by a luminance detection sensor at every actual measurement timing of degradation information is obtained for each fundamental emission color to obtain actually measured degradation information for each fundamental emission color. Thereafter, an actually measured degradation rate corresponding to an average gradation value is calculated on the basis of the average gradation value within an actual measurement period and actually measured degradation information, and a fundamental table defining a fundamental correspondence relation between gradation values and degradation rates is referred to, whereby actually measured degradation rates of all gradation values other than the average gradation value are calculated for each fundamental emission color. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
