<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To thin in the thickness of a substrate in a liquid crystal display device and to reduce outside dimensions. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is equipped with a liquid crystal display panel, a backlight disposed on the side of the liquid crystal display panel opposite to its observer, and a frame, wherein the backlight has a frame-shaped mold, a surface of the liquid crystal display panel farther from the observer is fixed on a surface of the observer's side of the frame-shaped mold, a side face of the liquid crystal display panel is placed further backward to the inside of the frame-shaped mold than a side face of the frame-shaped mold, and the liquid crystal display panel and the frame-shaped mold are contained in the inside of the frame without intervention of a resin between the side face of the liquid crystal display panel and the frame. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
