PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rust prevention-treated steel sheet which can effectively bring out the performance of rust preventive components involved in each microcapsule. SOLUTION: The surface of a steel sheet is provided with a coating film with a film thickness of≥0.3μm, and each microcapsule involving a rust preventive is dispersed in the coating film in the ratio of 1.0 to 30.0 mass%. Each microcapsule involves a rust preventive such as a compound having a -NH group, a compound having a -SH group, benzotriazole, tannic acid and a water soluble metal salt, and an outer skin is integrated into the coating film resin by fusion. Provided that the melting temperature of the base resin and the outer skin of the microcapsule is defined as T<SB>1</SB>, T<SB>2</SB>, respectively; the temperature differenceΔT(T<SB>1</SB>-T<SB>2</SB>) is controlled to±70°C, and a coating material is baked at a heating temperature T<SB>3</SB>set to the range between (the higher melting temperature T<SB>1</SB>, T<SB>2</SB>) and (the lower melting temperature T<SB>2</SB>, T<SB>1</SB>+70°C), thus the fusion and integration of the coating film and the outer skin of each microcapsule can be attained.
