PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable concurrent photographing of motion pictures and still images in an imaging device, such as video camera, digital camera or the like, that can photograph motion pictures and still images. SOLUTION: An imaging device is equipped with imaging elements that perform photoelectric conversion, an A/D converter that practices digital conversion of an image photographed by the imaging elements to convert the image subjected to the digital conversion into an RAW image, an internal storage, a signal processor that applies image processing to the RAW image to produce motion pictures and still images, an external storage, and a motion picture indication detector and a still image indication detector. When still image photographing has been detected by the still image indication detector during recording motion pictures, the RAW image and a camera control parameter are stored in the internal storage. After the end of motion picture photographing, the RAW image and the camera control parameter are retrieved from the internal storage. Then, the RAW image is undergone image processing, based on the camera control parameter that has been read in, and thereafter is stored in the external storage. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
