PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device in which the temperature of a fixing roller is prevented from falling right after being rotated without driving control or a driving control time of the device is greatly shortened. SOLUTION: The fixing device has a heating roller 1 having a heat source 2, the fixing roller 3, an endless fixing belt 6 between the heating roller 1 and fixing roller 3, and a pressure roller 4 pressed against the fixing roller 3 via the fixing belt 6. A portion ranging at least from nearly above the heating roller to nearly below the fixing roller 3 is covered with a housing 9 made of excellently heat-conductive material, and fluorine resin being base material of a release layer in a surface layer of the fixing belt 6 contains material having higher infrared absorption than that of the fluorine resin.
