PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sensor device and a rolling bearing unit with a sensor, free from restriction on the material of a detected part, and requiring no additional work for the detected part. SOLUTION: This sensor device 22 is provided with ultrasonic sensors Sti, Sto, Sbi, Sbo for detecting echoes of an ultrasonic wave from a contact part between a fixed side race way track member 23 and a rolling element (ball) 25. A rolling element load is found using a correlation between a load acting on the rolling element 25 and an echo ratio obtained based on outputs from the ultrasonic sensors Sti, Sto, Sbi, Sbo. A processing means has a correction processing part for correcting echo intensity signals from the ultrasonic sensors Sti, Sto, Sbi, Sbo, pursuant to an expression shown as follows: H=a+bH', where H represents the echo intensity signal after corrected, and H' represents the echo intensity signal before corrected.
