A device (5100) and method is disclosed for processing an encrypted data stream (5110). Further, a program element and a computer-readable medium are disclosed enabling the disclosed method. The device comprises a replication unit (5105) and is provided for replicating at least one portion of the encrypted data stream, a detection unit (5104) for detecting decryption messages comprised within a first portion of the encrypted data stream that is intended to be replicated. The embodiments process an encrypted data stream by replicating either the first portion or a subsequent portion of the encrypted data stream (5110) based upon detection by the detection unit of the decryption messages comprised within the first portion. In this way a processed encrypted stream (5112) can be provided that can be decrypted and subsequently decoded by a standard decrypter and decoder.
