DISTANCE MEASURING EQUIPMENT FOR BIOMETRIC AUTHENTICATION SYSTEM AND BIOMETRIC AUTHENTICATION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out a biometric authentication work by precisely and quickly detecting a distance to a subject even if there are fluctuations in reflected waves due to a subject surface such as the subject's skin and hair moving continuously in the biometric authentication.

SOLUTION: This biometric authentication system is provided with a distance surveying section 40 calculating distance information to the subject, a distance calculation section 33 calculating the distance information to the subject based on the image of a light source 12a and a light source 12b included in an eye image obtained by capturing with an imaging section 20, a proofreading section 34 proofreading the distance information calculation calculated by the distance surveying section 40 based on the calculated distance information; guides the subject to an optimal imaging position using the proofread distance information of the distance surveying section 40; and captures the image of the guided subject's eyes by the imaging section 20. An iris information processing section 70 authenticates the subject based on the authentication information obtained by the imaging.
