<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parking brake structure hardly overlooking release operation. <P>SOLUTION: The stick type parking brake 10 is arranged on an instrument panel 12 of a vehicle. A pipe-like stem 1 is connected to a brake wire for operating and releasing the parking brake. On a head 4 provided on one end of the stem 1, an opening part 5 making at least a part of a hand of a user insertable is partitioned. A rack tooth 6 is formed on the part of the stem 1. A lock piece 14 is engaged with the rack tooth 6 to maintain the operation state of the parking brake. In releasing of the parking brake, a front surface 4a of the head 4 and the instrument panel 12 substantially constitutes a continued surface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
