PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus capable of detecting information embedded in an image with high accuracy. SOLUTION: A composite machine 1 capable of preventing leakage of information of a confidential document includes: an image expansion means 2 for inputting a document image; a code image generating means 10 for generating a code image where a plurality of kinds of patterns are arranged under prescribed rules; an image composite means 11 for composing the document image with the code image; and a print means 12 for outputting a composite image composed by the image composite means 11. The patterns may be elliptic patterns. The patterns of a plurality of shapes have different widths. Thus, the information embedded in the image can be detected with high accuracy by embedding the code image comprising the patterns of the plural shapes in a background of the document information.
