PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator device having a car movable by straddling two landing halls, easy in installation and maintenance-control by a simple structure, and without requiring transfer in the middle. SOLUTION: This elevator device is arranged in a substantially inverse U-shaped moving passage 10 reaching a second landing hall 2 via an upper connecting passage 13 from a first landing hall 1. A main rope 24 has a well bucket device 41 supported by two main rope fulcrums 31 and 33 positioned above both hoistways in the connecting passage, and suspending and supporting the car in a well bucket system between the main rope fulcrums. The two main rope fulcrums are relatively moved in the vertical direction by an operation device 42, and impart a height difference between the main rope fulcrums.
