PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light shielding hood in which impact is relaxed to reduce possibility of damage and features of a small-sized and lightweight apparatus body can be effectively utilized. SOLUTION: A light shielding hood for liquid crystal monitor is mainly comprised of a material such as soft and lightweight paper, cloth, leather, rubber, or soft plastic, the light shielding hood is lightweight and is not bulky so as to effectively utilize features of an apparatus body improved in reduction of thickness and weight with a liquid crystal monitor, and if eyes or eyeglasses hit the light shielding hood, the light shielding hood itself is deformed.
