PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that prevents an image from being outputted without recognizing collateral information. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: an original size detection section for detecting a size of an original; a scanner section 11 for reading an image of the original; a copy inhibit information detection section 14 for detecting the collateral information embedded into image data; and a control section 16 that controls an output of the image data according to the collateral information and controls the image forming apparatus such that the image data are not outputted when the detected size of the original is smaller than a prescribed size. Since the image forming apparatus outputs no image data when the size of the original is smaller than the prescribed size, the image forming apparatus outputs no image without recognizing the collateral information.
