The invention concerns a reactor for treating a substance in a medium. It comprises a body (2) wherein is defined a reaction zone (10) adapted to contain a reaction medium, at least one inlet for introducing the reaction medium into the reaction zone, an outlet for evacuating effluents outside the reaction zone. A protective sheath (8) arranged inside the body (2) and delimits the reaction zone (10). Said sheath is spaced apart from the body so as to define a confinement zone (12) isolating the reaction zone from the body. The reaction zone and the confinement zone are sealingly isolated from each other.
