An apparatus and a method for separating linerboard from old corrugated cardboard are provided to improve the reusability of the old corrugated cardboard, by continuously separating corrugated medium and linerboard from the old corrugated cardboard. White water is continuously putted in a pulper by the amount of pulp, which is continuously discharged from the pulper to the outside, thereby uniformly keeping the amount of white water within the pulper(S1). Old corrugated cardboard is inputted and crushed to dissociate corrugated medium within the pulper(S2). Linerboard pieces are filtered out by flowing pulp contents containing the linerboard pieces into a screen, which is connected to an outlet of the pulper(S3). Contents unfiltered by the screen are returned to the pulper(S4). The associated corrugated medium is continuously discharged through a perforated plate, and sent to a single fiber corrugated medium chest(S6).
