<p>Disclosed is a novel yellow light-emitting phosphor which is composed of calcium (Ca), aluminum (Al), silicon (Si), europium (Eu) and nitrogen (N), and represented by the following general formula: Ca<SUB>1-x</SUB>AlSi<SUB>4</SUB>N<SUB>7</SUB>:Eu<SUB>x</SUB>. In the general formula, x is preferably within the range of 0.001 < x = 0.15. Since this yellow light-emitting phosphor emits yellow light, which is the complementary color of blue, when excited by blue light, the phosphor can be used for producing warm white light in combination with a blue light-emitting device.</p> |
