<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain effectively a face and entire body of a photographer himself/herself from departing from a field angle. <P>SOLUTION: A difference picture producing unit 20b produces a difference picture C between an image A containing no photographer himself/herself in a photographic subject and an image B containing the photographer himself/herself in the photographic subject. A face extracting unit 20a attempts to extract the face from a continuous region Y of the difference picture C. A photographer judging unit 20c judges whether the face could have been extracted from the Y region or not.
