<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine the adequacy of a refrigerant amount in a refrigerant circuit with high accuracy while reducing a time and labor for inputting information on a use unit before operating a separate-type air conditioner. <P>SOLUTION: This air conditioner 1 comprises the refrigerant circuit 10 constituted by connecting a heat source unit 2, and the use units 4, 5, a transmission line 8a for transmitting a signal between the heat source unit 2 and the use units 4, 5, an information acquiring means, an operation control means capable of performing a refrigerant amount determining operation, a refrigerant amount determining means, and a condition setting means. The information acquiring means acquires information on the use units 4, 5 connected with the heat source unit 2 through the transmission line 8a. The refrigerant amount determining means determines the adequacy of the refrigerant amount in the refrigerant circuit 10 on the basis of a refrigerant flowing in the refrigerant circuit 10 in the refrigerant amount determining operation or an operation state quantity of a constitutional apparatus.
