PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt type continuously variable transmission capable of suppressing increase of power loss of an oil pump. SOLUTION: This belt type continuously variable transmission comprises a primary pulley 50, a secondary pulley, a belt 110, a primary hydraulic chamber 55 (positioning hydraulic chamber ), a plurality of operating oil supplying means 70a, c permitting the supply of operating oil to the primary hydraulic chamber 55, a plurality of operating oil discharging means 80a, c controlling permission or inhibition of discharge of operating oil from the primary hydraulic chamber 55, and having different areas of pressure receiving faces 87a, c receiving oil pressure of each driving hydraulic chamber 86 as permission condition, and an operation oil supply controlling device 130 controlling the discharge of operating oil by each of the operating oil discharging means 80a, c on the basis of the permission condition. The operating oil supply means 70a, c are disposed on a primary movable sieve 53, and each of the operating oil discharging means 80a, c is disposed on a primary partitioning wall 54, and rotated integrally with a primary pulley shaft 51.
