PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and surely eliminating small projections of a crystal level regarding a device and a method for processing a magnetic head slider, designed to eliminate small projections stuck to the floating surface of the magnetic head slider by polishing. SOLUTION: The device for processing a magnetic head slider used in a magnetic disk device for executing magnetic recording/reproducing in a disk recording medium 15 includes the disk recording medium 15 used as a polishing material, an HGA holding means 18 for holding a suspension arm 12 in which the magnetic head slider 11 is disposed, an elevation mechanism 17 for elevating the suspension arm 12 to slide the magnetic head slider 11 into contact with the disk shape recording medium 15, and a rotating means (controller 22 and motor 16) for rotating the disk recording medium 15 at a rotational speed later than that during a magnetic recording/reproducing process.
