PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the lighting device capable of achieving high light utilization efficiency and satisfactory light distribution characteristics using a surface light emitting solid-state element as a light source, although it is small in size. SOLUTION: The lighting device 5 includes the surface light emitting solid-state element 6 having a curved surface and an optical member 7 provided with at least a reflective surface and having a light concentrating function to a light irradiation range for the light from the surface light emitting solid-state element. The lighting device 305 includes a surface light emitting solid-state element 46 having flexibility and a mechanism 50 varying the shape of the surface light emitting solid-state element.
