PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer emulsion for cosmetics capable of forming a film having excellent shrinkability, softness and water resistance, a method for producing the emulsion and an eyelash cosmetic. SOLUTION: The polymer emulsion contains core-shell type polymer particles. The polymer of the shell part is an amphiphilic polymer containing a constitution unit derived from methacrylic acid and/or its salt and a constitution unit derived from a hydrophobic vinyl monomer and having a glass transition temperature of≥100°C, and the polymer of the core part is a hydrophobic polymer containing a constitution unit derived from a hydrophobic vinyl monomer and having a glass transition temperature of≤10°C. The invention further provides a method for producing the polymer emulsion and an eyelash cosmetic product compounded with the emulsion. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
