PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transparent member for reading which is less liable to attachment of dust such as a toner or paper powder, etc., by static charge, and is highly durable. SOLUTION: This transparent member is positioned between a light source and a script in an image reader which optically reads a delivered script, and a transparent electroconductive film is formed on the opposite side of the surface on which the script is in contact (paper passing surface), and there is a region having different surface resistance in the transparent electroconductive film.
